I work collaboratively with clients to support healing through their existing strengths while addressing emotional pain and unresolved experiences. I use EMDR as a core treatment approach due to the meaningful and lasting results it offers for trauma, grief, and distressing life events. For memories that are difficult to access, I am trained in the Flash Technique to help desensitize distress and continue EMDR processing safely. I also integrate CBT, DBT, PST, and other evidence-based modalities to support mood regulation, anxiety management, and adjustment concerns. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered as you work toward your treatment goals.
About Debra
Debra Stambaugh is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialized training in grief, loss, and trauma. She supports adults navigating grief, bereavement, and anticipatory loss, drawing on formal training in thanatology through the Association of Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). Debra is a certified EMDR provider and incorporates evidence-based trauma treatments to support healing across a range of concerns, including complicated grief, anxiety, mood disorders, and life transitions. Her work is grounded in a strengths-based, collaborative approach that honors each client’s lived experience and capacity for resilience.
Debra was drawn to the counseling field through her personal and professional experiences with grief and loss. She previously worked in hospice care and played a key role in implementing a hospital-based palliative care program, experiences that deepened her understanding of end-of-life care, ambiguous loss, and the emotional complexities surrounding death and dying. Debra brings compassion, clinical depth, and respect to every therapeutic relationship, meeting clients where they are and providing a supportive space for healing.
